On March 6, 2024, Integration Controls CEO Jamie Briesemeister will travel to Washington D.C. to take part in the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Lobby Day. This dedicated event will center around educating legislators about the smart home technology industry and gaining congressional support for the occupational classification of “integrator” in an effort to provide further credibility to the industry and tax exemptions to professionals nationwide. In addition, the group will also be voicing support for the Freedom to Invest in Tomorrow’s Workforce Act which allows for 529 savings plans to be used for technical training and certifications.
As the smart home technology industry continues to evolve, these legislative efforts have become increasingly important to streamlining operations, putting fair regulations in place, proper licensing, tax exemptions, and more. These efforts are paramount to helping the industry mature. Integration Controls couldn’t be prouder to stand alongside CEDIA as both a member and as part of its Government Affairs Program to advocate for a bright future ahead.
