For the last several years, Integration Controls has traveled to Design and Construction Week (DCW) in Las Vegas—a massive tradeshow for interior designers, builders, and architects that showcases the latest and greatest products for home building and design, including shows for both the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). These two associations co-located this year at the Las Vegas Convention Center with 1,800+ exhibitors showcasing over one million net square feet of exhibit space! Every year we attend, we find something to bring back to our clients and the design community and this year was no exception. Here, we’ve separated our findings into four tech trends for easy reading, and are happy to chat with you about how to integrate technology into your St. Louis home! If something inspires you, contact us to discuss your options. Every year we attend, we find something to bring back to our clients and the design community and this year was no exception. Interested in something you don’t see in our gift guide? It may not fit inside a stocking, but we will collaborate with you to find a unique gift for your lifestyle and home’s interior. Plus, you’ll also be supporting a local business; always a good way to spread holiday cheer! (See our blog on Small Business Saturday for more on shopping locally this season!)
Small Business Saturday is a retail event that occurs in November and was initially created (by American Express) to encourage consumers to shop locally, in person and online, at small businesses. It’s a great opportunity for small businesses to increase sales during the holiday shopping season as they compete with companies like Amazon or Walmart. Plus, it reminds people of the benefits of shopping local, such as keeping your money invested in the community, creating a personal connection to local businesses, delivering enhanced expertise and service, and helping you find those unique and diverse products and services for the very best gift—even for the quirkiest folks on your list.
Small Business Saturday is more than an event, however, it’s a mindset we can all enjoy year-round! So avoid the lines and shipping delays this holiday season and give your loved ones an experience to remember...one that will last long after the thrill of the season is over.
Technological enhancements to the home not only bring beauty, they also bring convenience and a better quality of life, almost magically.
What kind of magic can we provide? Here are three examples for smart-home gifting this holiday season:
Our client was building a new home and wanted to integrate a home theater experience that would trump that of traditional commercial movie megaplex. There's just one problem, there is an underwater mural in the entertainment room that absolutely cannot be changed.
